Smart Wrapper Series
Smart Wrappers in short
iPack builds eight automatic stretch wrapping machines with PLC control and 200–250 % pre-stretch: turntable, top-covering, rotary arm, in-line, cylindrical roll, horizontal ring, wrap-and-strap and self-propelled. Throughput runs from 15 to 40 pallets per hour, turntable capacity to 2 000 kg, and every model is CE certified and built to your voltage.
Turntable, rotary-arm, in-line, cylinder, horizontal and self-propelled stretch wrappers — one platform, eight configurations, all PLC controlled and CE certified.

Why this family exists
Built around the load, not the catalogue
Every wrapping problem starts with the load. A stable pallet on a forklift-fed line is a different animal from a two-tonne paper reel, a six-metre aluminium extrusion or a stack of bags that will not stay square. That is why the SW range is not one machine with options bolted on — it is eight machines built around eight different load behaviours.
All of them share the same engineering: PLC and touchscreen control with stored recipes, a powered pre-stretch carriage with independent film-feed motor, VFD drives with soft start and stop, photoelectric load sensing and hot-wire or heated-block film sealing. What changes is how the film gets around your product.
Film yield runs from 200 % on the entry turntable model to 250 % on the top-covering and in-line machines, which is where most of the payback comes from — the film is the consumable, and stretching it further is the cheapest saving available.
What every unit includes
- PLC + touchscreen control with a stored recipe per product
- Powered pre-stretch carriage, 200 % to 250 % film yield
- VFD drives with soft start/stop and automatic home reset
- Photoelectric load-height sensing on every model
- Film carriage safety guard and emergency stop circuit
- Voltage, PLC brand, film width and colour set at order
- CE declaration, electrical schematic and English manual pack
Up to 250 % film yield
A powered carriage stretches the film before it reaches the load — the single biggest running-cost saving on any wrapper.
Recipe per product
Layers, top and bottom wraps, over-top time and film tension are stored on the HMI, so changeover is a button rather than a setup.
Load-matched kinematics
Turntable, rotating arm, driven rollers or a travelling machine — chosen to suit how your product behaves, not what we had in stock.
CE-certified guarding
Safety guards, photoelectric curtains, dual limit switches and 24 V control circuits as standard, with documentation.
8 models in this family
Every specification below is taken from the official datasheet. Open a model for the full table, options and application notes.
Typical applications
Forklift-fed dispatch bays
Turntable and top-covering models where a truck places and collects each pallet.
Conveyor-fed production lines
In-line and rotary-arm models that take the pallet off your conveyor and hand it back wrapped.
Paper, film and nonwovens
Cylinder wrappers that spiral film around the full circumference of a reel or log.
Aluminium, steel and profiles
Horizontal ring wrappers for long, slender extruded product.

Heavy roll sealed on a turntable cell
Turntable wrapper with a powered pre-stretch carriage sealing an oversized roll before dispatch. Installed, wired and commissioned by our own engineers.

Jumbo reel wrapping in a paper mill
A cylinder wrapper spirals film around the full circumference of the reel while driven rollers turn the load — six-side protection with no manual handling.

Roll wrapping cell commissioned on site
Control cabinet, HMI and powered rollers installed and levelled in the customer's plant, with the operator trained on the actual production recipe.
Smart Wrappers — questions buyers ask
Which wrapping machine is best for a standard pallet?
+
The SW-5000D turntable wrapper. It carries 2 000 kg on a φ1 650 mm deck, runs 200 % pre-stretch at 20–30 pallets per hour, and installs on a single-phase 220 V supply — which is what makes it usable in an existing dispatch bay with no electrical works.
What is the difference between pre-stretch and film yield?
+
They describe the same thing from two directions. A 250 % pre-stretch ratio means one metre of film becomes three and a half metres on the pallet, which is also written as 1:3.5 film yield. Higher yield means less film consumed per pallet for the same containment.
Can one machine wrap pallets and paper reels?
+
No — they are different architectures. A reel needs driven rollers that turn the product while the turntable rotates (SW-2000D), because a flat turntable leaves the ends of the reel exposed. A pallet goes on a turntable because the load is flat and stable.
Do your wrappers need compressed air?
+
Only where a pneumatic function is fitted: the top press, the top-sheet covering head and the SW-2000D ejector. The standard turntable wrapper is fully electric and needs no air supply at all.
How long is delivery?
+
Standard turntable wrappers ship in 15–25 days. Rotary arm, in-line, cylinder and horizontal machines are typically 25–40 days, because guarding and conveyor sections are built to the specific order.
