Food & beverage end of line

How do you wrap 30 pallets an hour without an operator at the machine?

In short

Put the turntable on the conveyor. The SW-7000D uses a powered roller deck (φ89 mm rollers on a 100 mm pitch) as its turntable, so pallets roll in, wrap, seal and roll out with no forklift at the wrapper. Throughput is 20–40 pallets per hour with 250 % film yield.

In food and beverage the constraint is rarely the wrapping itself — it is the forklift movement around it. Every pallet that has to be placed and collected adds a truck, an operator and a queue at the end of the line.

Hygiene and washdown requirements also rule out machines with exposed mechanisms and crevices that trap product debris.

How iPack solves it

The turntable is the conveyor

Powered rollers take the pallet from your conveyor and hand it back wrapped. The forklift never stops at the wrapper, which is where the labour saving actually comes from.

Line integration, not a side machine

Standard PLC communication ports and photoelectric sensors sequence loading, wrapping, sealing and discharge, and interlock with your line controller.

Film cost under control

250 % pre-stretch with programmable layers, over-top time and reinforcement wraps. Film is the running cost that matters, and stretching it further is the cheapest saving available.

Top protection where it is needed

Where pallets are stored outside or in chill, the SW-1000D applies a PE cover sheet and welds it to the stretch film for five-side protection in one pass.

Multi-directional trucks travel sideways down the aisle, so the main aisle only has to be as wide as the load — not as wide as the truck plus its turning circle.

Units are run in, filmed and staged together so a mixed fleet ships in one container with a single set of manuals and spares.

Food & beverage — common questions

Does the wrapper need to be bought with a conveyor?

+

No. The SW-7000D's own turntable is the powered roller conveyor — it only needs an infeed and outfeed at the same height. Give us your conveyor height, roller pitch and PLC protocol and the machine is configured to match.

What happens if a pallet jams?

+

Photoelectric sensors stop the cycle and raise an alarm on the HMI with a fault code. The operator clears the deck and restarts; nothing upstream is affected because the ready/load-out interlocks hold the conveyor.

How much film does 250 % pre-stretch save?

+

At 250 % yield one metre of film becomes 3.5 m on the pallet. Against hand wrapping, that is typically a 50–60 % reduction in film consumed per pallet; the exact figure depends on wrap count and load stability.

Can it wrap in a washdown area?

+

The standard execution is IP-rated for normal food-plant conditions with stainless fasteners. Tell us the washdown regime and the electrical enclosure specification is set at order.
